Hate Crime Reporting

Asian American Federation

AAF created the Stay Safe from Hate safety booklet in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Tagalog, and Vietnamese that outlines verbal and physical self-defense strategies that people can use to keep themselves safe in the streets: https://mailchi.mp/aafederation/aaf-landing-page.

AAF also created a series of safety videos on Self-Defense Strategies to Keep Yourself Safe in the Streets that demonstrate several physical self-defense strategies that people can employ if they ever find themselves targeted in public spaces. Stop AAPI Hate - Hate Crime Reporting

Asian Pacific Policy & Planning Council (A3PCON) and Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) launched Stop AAPI Hate to allow community members to report incidents of hate. Individual information is kept confidential. In the aggregate, information is used for assistance, advocacy, and education.

Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law - Stop Hate Project

If you are an individual or institution that was victimized by a hate incident, call 1-844-9-NO-HATE for reporting & resources. Callers receive resources as we leverage a national network of pro bono attorneys, community organizations, mental health services, and in appropriate cases, provide access to counsel. You may also visit 8449nohate.org for a collection of resources to combat hate.

New York Hate Crime Hotline

New York’s Attorney General urges those experiencing hate crimes and bias incidents due to COVID-19 to report them by emailing the Attorney General’s Civil Rights Bureau at civil.rights@ag.ny.gov, or calling 1-800-771-7755.

Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Stand Against Hatred

AAAJ is collecting stories of COVID-19 related hate incidences in order to document and to educate people about the environment of hate around the country. They also have compiled resources for reporting and resisting hate crimes.

Guide for Providing Mental Health Services to DACA Recipients

The guide is meant to be practical and useful in clinical practice, particularly for providers working with immigrants who are impacted by stressors related to the Supreme Court decision on DACA as well as the COVID-19 pandemic. The guide contains 10 steps that providers can take in order to improve their cultural responsiveness and clinical knowledge on supporting individuals who benefit from DACA.

Asian and Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) In-Language Resources

A collection of Asian, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian in-language resources about COVID-19. Resources are community-pooled and cover approximately 30 languages.

Coronavirus Resource Kit

This resource kit is a regularly updated collectivized document with mutual aid projects and resources.  It features resources from disabled, queer, elderly, Asian, and indigenous people. Mutual aid projects from Seattle, Philadelphia, DC, Twin Cities, Boston, and Chicago are included, along with other geographic locations.

COVID-19 Multilanguage Resource Hub

This resource hub was initiated by the UCLA Asian American Studies Center and Fielding School of Public Health to share in-language/translated resources on COVID-19 for multilingual communities through a searchable database. Resources listed are provided for reference to assist members of the community at large, including but not limited to AAPI.
