2021 General Election Information
What are the key dates?
October 8 is the last day to register to vote in New York.
October 18 is the deadline to request an absentee ballot online or by mail.
October 23 - October 31 is the early voting period.
November 2 is Election Day.
Who can request an absentee ballot in this year’s local elections?
Because of the pandemic, anyone can STILL request an absentee ballot this year.
Mark “temporary illness” when asking for an absentee ballot.
When are the deadlines to register for an absentee ballot?
October 26 is the last day to postmark the application or letter of application for the general election ballot.
November 1 is the last day to apply in person for the general election ballot.
November 2 is the last day to postmark the general election ballot. Must be received by the county board no later than Nov. 9th.
November 2 is the last day to deliver the general election ballot in person to your county board or your poll site, by close of polls on election day.
How do I request an absentee ballot?
By going in-person to your local county board of elections.
